Information
TIME:
Inscription concerning the upper classes of society and public life. Text of the magistrates of the colony. Letter from Iulio Paterno to the emperors Marco Aurelio and Lucio Vero. Composed of two matching fragments. Latin text preserved on 12 lines. The first line is in slightly bigger and more spaced letters. The text at the end of lines 2 and 3 has a more or less regular size and distributed over the rest of the stone. Punctuation marks are used to emphasize certain elements. The letters are well engraved, with simple lettering and a tendency to write higher and narrower letters than before (common practice from II/III century A.D.); this is particularly evident with the letter E, which is not always easy to distinguish when it is corroded. The capital letter 'I' is used. "P" is generally open.
