AUTHOR:
Michele Rapisardi
The artist depicts the moment after the insult from a French soldier to a young woman in Palermo, to which an immediate revenge follows that leads then to the popular rebellion against the Angioins. The scene is structured in two main groups, surrounded by a crowd of people. Rapisardi inserts his own portrait through different ages between the faces of some man attacking. Mountain Pellegrino is in the background, recalling once again Palermo.
