Revolving gun with four shots

Wheellock with four shots, with archaic flintlock. It is the work of an ingenious craftsman from Misterbianco, it is the prototype of the multi-shot weapons with rotating drum. This gun was sent by the Mayor of Catania to the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1862, as evidence of the craftmanship of the local gunsmiths. It took them seven years of frantic correspondence between Catania and Paris and the personal intervention of the Minister Marchese Antonino of S. Giuliano to obtain the restitution. This revolving four-shot pistol features some embossed decorations on copper foil on the stock.
